Mike Graff, USPTA & PPTA
Mike joins Farmington Tennis Club as the General Manager and Tennis Director after spending the last 2 years as the Director of Operations at the Birmingham Racquet Club and Head Professional at the Birmingham Athletic Club. Previously he spent six years as the Sports Director at The Sports Club of West Bloomfield where he had worked since 1987. He has been very involved in all aspects of Southeastern Michigan tennis, serving on the SEMTA board, USPTA Midwest Board, Competitive Training Center Coach, USTA District Endorser, Cystic Fibrosis Tennis Auction Ball and many others. He played four years of Varsity Tennis at Oakland University and graduated with a degree in Marketing in 1991. His top tennis achievement may have come when he and three other Michigan professionals were inducted into the Guinness Book of World Records for 111 hours of continuous doubles play in 1990.  Mike is looking forward to working with everyone at FTC and hopes to see you on the courts soon.

Steve Kirschbaum, USPTA

Steve is an experienced tennis professional who brings over twenty five years of teaching and coaching to the Farmington Tennis Club.  At present, he is also the Coach of the Walled Lake Northern Boys Tennis Team.  He was previously with Square Lake Athletic Club and Franklin Racquet Club where he served as Director of Junior Tennis for over eight years.  Steve served on the USTA/Midwest Section Youth Competition/Training Committee, and has been the Tournament Director for the annual SEMTA PreQualifier, Qualifier and Franklin Winter Championships junior tournaments. He coached the Bloomfield Hills Andover High School tennis team to state championships in 1997 and 2002.  During his professional career, Steve has worked with many top ranked juniors as well as professional players and has been instrumental in over 100 juniors receiving college scholarships for their tennis abilities.


John Hale,
USPTA

John has been a certified USPTA teaching professional since graduating from Ferris State University’s Professional Tennis Management Program in 2001.  In 2000, John represented Ferris in the USA Team Tennis National Championships, held in Austin Texas.  John’s teaching experience began in 1999 at the Livonia YMCA and then continued at Eastside Tennis and Fitness in Grosse Pointe, where he worked as a full-time teaching professional from 2001 through the summer of 2004.  In the fall of 2004, John joined the Farmington Tennis Club staff and began working with both the Junior and Adult programs.  John is excited about all of the new opportunities at the Farmington Tennis Club and is looking forward to seeing everyone out on the courts!



Jim Lepping, USPTA
Jim has been teaching tennis for over 35 years, and has coached High School Tennis and Volleyball. He has been certified as both a NTRP Verifier and tennis official. Jim has instructed for Tennis on Wheels, coached both USA Team Tennis and Junior Wightman Cup and served as a clinician/trainer for the in-school and after school programs. He also runs the Livonia Community Education tennis program. Jim is a Beyer Award winner for the Southeast Michigan district of the USTA.

Frank Jasieniecki, USPTR
Frank comes to us from the Walled Lake school district where he has been a teacher for 34 years. He is PTR certified and holds a double masters in Industrial Technology and Educational Psychology. He has coached at the high school level over 20 years and has worked with many sectional and nationally ranked players. He was awarded the regional coach of the year honor in 1986 and 1989 by the Michigan High School Tennis Coaches Association. Frank has worked at many of the area clubs over the years including Farmington and the Jewish Community Center. "I've really enjoyed working with kids of all ages and taking them to the next level".

Dave Guziatek
David has taught tennis and performed various business functions at Farmington Tennis Club for four years. His tennis career began on the University of Detroit Jesuit High School tennis team, then at Wayne State University’s team, and has continued through competitive play in many USTA events. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University and continues his education by attending tennis workshops.

Amy Hale,
USPTA
Amy has been the Program Coordinator at Farmington Tennis Club for the past two years.  Amy graduated from Ferris State University’s Professional Tennis Management Program in May 2001, where she received an award for “Business Professionalism” with the PTM program.  While at Ferris, Amy also competed on the nationally ranked Women’s Tennis Team for four years.  Amy’s tennis experience includes interning with the USTA at the SEMTA office, working as a USPTA certified teaching professional at the Orchard Lake Country Club and teaching all ages and levels of players at Eastside Tennis and Fitness in Grosse Pointe for three years before coming to Farmington.

Andy Kim
Andy has been at Farmington Tennis Club for over 10 years and has enjoyed teaching many players from juniors to seniors, from beginners to nationally ranked players. With his tennis experience and teaching skills he has helped many players love the game and enabled them to reach their goals at the highest levels. Andy's playing career included Indonesian Davis Cup, Satellite Tour 1980-1983, European Club Tennis and College Tennis for the University of Tennessee.

Shawn McGrath,
USPTR

Shawn has been at Farmington Tennis Club for over six years and brings his college and USTA tournament experience to the court. He is a student of the game and has participated in many USTA and USPTR educational events, and has recently been certified as an ACE Associate Level Coach in the modern game. Under his leadership as a Varsity and Jr Varsity High School Coach, he led the Farmington Boys and Girls teams to the State playoffs. In addition, Shawn spent the last two summers as Head Pro at Beachview Swim and Tennis Club where his team won the interclub championships. Shawn teaches all levels of players and always welcomes new players to join him on the court.

 

Rick Cummins

Rick is the Head Professional at the Birmingham Athletic Club and is the former Head Men’s Tennis Coach at Wayne State University where he led the team to 4 consecutive NCAA tournament appearances and a national ranking as high as 28th in the country. His teaching experience includes stints at Rochester Hills Racquet Club, One on One Athletic Club, Beachwood Tennis and Swim Club and running the Paul Walling/Rick Cummins Tennis Academy. Rick loves helping players of all ages and levels and thrives on making sure everyone on his court gets a great workout to go along with their new skills. Rick played his college tennis at Oakland University. Rick is currently the Head Cross Country Coach at Wayne State University where he has led the team to many years of success on both a regional and national level.
