Junior INSTRUCTIONAL Programs
                                                                                                    CLASSES OFFERED:

Pee Wee-(4-6 yrs) Children will be introduced to the court, ball and racquet. The goal of the program is to show these players how much fun it is to be on a tennis court. Hand-eye coordination and movement skills are developed through various games and drills.

Young Stars-(6-8 yrs) A program of movement, balance, coordination and motor skill development with focus on self and partner rallying skills on the 36' court. Both reception and projection activities will be emphasized. Children will learn the first stages of cooperative tennis. The children will learn how to initiate a rally, how to move and judge a ball (reception and centering skills), how to control the racquet at the contact point and control the height, direction and depth to be future tennis development. (Red Balls)

Advanced Young Stars-(6-8 yrs) Children will continue to learn the skill of the 36' court. By the end of this program, a child should be able to play on either a 36' or 60' court using a full or abbreviated serving motion. The children will learn how to move effectively so as to ensure good position and balance for each shot. They will be taught how to adapt to different situations and how to compete in match play events.

Cost: $190.00/member and $220.00/non-member

Beginners-(9-12 yrs) For children who are relatively new to tennis. Learning to rally and play is the theme of each class. The students will be exposed to all the basic skills of tennis including ground strokes, volleys, overheads and serves. The class will stress cooperation and competition in many of the drills and play situations. (Red, Orange, Green, and Yellow Balls)

Cost: $190.00/member and $220.00/non-member

Intermediate-(9-12 yrs) Children will learn the basics of tactical play from the 60' court for both singles and doubles. Swing rhythm on the forehands and backhands will be emphasized. The children will be introduced to topspin and will learn how to differentiate between a volley action and a ground stroke action. A variety of serve progressions will be taught and the serve and return of serve will be covered regularly. (Orange Balls)

Advanced Intermediate-(9-12 yrs) This class will cover more advanced stroke production, consistency, serving technique and game play in a less competitive atmosphere than the tournament training classes. (Orange and Green Balls)

Teen Excellence- (12-18 yrs) This class is for the competitive player who is having success in either singles or doubles and is aspiring to make their high school team Players should be able to sustain a medium/high paced rally with direction and depth, recognize short balls and move to the net, and are developing serves with both spin and power. This is an ideal group for players who wants to increase their skills in time for their season.

Cost: $380.00/member and $440.00/non-member

Advanced Teen Excellence- (12-18 yrs) The Teen Excellence is designed for players who are interested in pursuing tournament play and USTA ranking in the future.

Junior COMPETITION Programs

     

                                                                                                   CLASSES OFFERED:

     

Junior Match Play- "Match Play" is an affordable way to add an additional day to your tennis training. Games, contests and matches will be directly supervised by our professional staff.

Sign up for a session or join us on a weekly basis. Entry into this program is by instructor approval only.

Cost: $25 (1 day/week)

 

Friday 4:30-6:30pm

USTA Junior Team Tennis - A USTA program, designed to promote competition in a team format. In each of the age divisions, 12 & under, 14 & under, and 18 & under, there is an intermediate level and advanced. Advanced team participants must have a SEMTA ranking, or be the equivalent level as decided by staff professional. Matches are played weekends beginning in October. Teams will trave to local clubs and compete, playing both singles and doubles.

Team Practices: Match Play and a day provided by the pro.

Cost: $25 (1 day/week) for Match Play and there is a additional cost for the clinic practice.

Minimum 8 players required to receive pizza and soda
